Motor School has developed a specific driver training program that meets operational site requirements to operate a light vehicle across the oil and gas industry. Our packages are approved by SANTOS, ORIGIN Energy, Arrow Energy, BMA, Rio Tinto and Xstrata to name a few.

Motor School has the experience, flexibility, and aptitude to deliver the necessary skills, education and accreditation from recruit induction phase through to longstanding oil and gas industry workforce experience.

Motor School’s training is constructed to assist companies, employees, contractors and visitors towards eliminating or minimising the risk of incidents, injuries and fatalities associated with the use of vehicles both on site and on any public and private roads used to access site locations.

All courses are constructed and delivered in accordance with the Competency for Standard: RII09 Resources and Infrastructure Industry Training Package.

  • Motor School is approved to deliver the driver training package RIIVEH201D, Operate light vehicle. This unit is a component in the RII30111 Certificate III in Surface Extraction Operations and participants are instructed in the operation of a light vehicle in the resources and infrastructure industries. The course covers planning and preparing for operations, operating a light vehicle, and carrying out operator maintenance. The course covers planning for operations, operating a medium vehicle and carrying out operator maintenance, and would benefit those working in an operational role at worksites within a construction, mining, or gas industry environment. There are no pre-requisites required of participants to enrol and undertake this tuition.

  • Motor School is approved to deliver of the driver training package RIIVEH202D, Operate a medium vehicle. This unit is a component in RII20211 Certificate II in Surface Extraction Operations and participants are instructed in the operation of medium vehicles in the resources and infrastructure industries. The course covers planning for operations, operating a medium vehicle and carrying out operator maintenance, and would benefit those working in an operational role at worksites within a construction, mining, or gas industry environment. There are no pre-requisites required of participants to enrol and undertake this tuition.

  • Motor School is approved to deliver of the driver training package RIIVEH305A, Operate and maintain a four-wheel drive vehicle. This unit is a component in both the RII31809 Certificate III in Drilling Operations, and the RII30511 Certificate III in Mining Exploration with participants being instructed in the operation and maintenance of four-wheel drive vehicles in the resources and infrastructure industries. The course covers identifying four-wheel drive specific terms, terminology and techniques, planning for minimal environmental impact, performing pre-departure checks, using the features of a four-wheel drive vehicle to drive in a variety of terrain types, and performing maintenance and minor repairs on four-wheel drive vehicles. There are no pre-requisites required of participants to enrol and undertake this tuition.

    Motor School also presents this training package specifically for the users of ATV (All Terrain Vehicles).

  • Motor School is approved to deliver the driver training package PMASUP236B, Operate vehicles in the field. This unit is a component in the RII31809 Certificate III in Drilling Operations and participants are instructed in the skills and knowledge required to prepare, operate and recover a vehicle for the purposes of a journey while maintaining vehicle safety. The course covers important elements from checking vehicles for damage, ensuring fuels and lubricant levels are competently maintained, and effecting minor repairs through to communication skills required in the field. There are no pre-requisites required of participants to enrol and undertake this tuition.
